The pendant represents specific elements from the Dracula story by Bram Stoker. The eye design on the bail represents Dracula's supernatural vision and his ability to see Mina wherever she may go. The four small blood red stones, the four corners of Dracula's dominion.  The central stone (lab star ruby) represents Mina's immortal soul and flame of life; or (black onyx) the count's eternal darkness.

Details: The pendant is made of Sterling Silver and measures approximately 36.7 mm long including bail, 20.9 mm wide, and 5.5 mm thick at the bail. The four faceted stones bordering the central stone are 2.5 mm faceted imitation garnets. The pendant weighs approximately 10.9 grams. The back of the pendant is textured and stamped with our makers mark, copyright and sterling.

The medallion features a topographical map of the Transylvanian mountain range showing the location of Castle Dracula from Bram Stoker’s gothic horror classic, Dracula. A blood red stone marks the exact site of the castle as determined from Stoker’s notes for the novel: Mount Izvorul Călimanului, near the Borgo Pass. Stoker chose this location atop the barren caldera of an extinct volcano for a very particular reason—before it was edited for publication, Dracula originally ended with a volcano erupting and destroying the castle after the Count’s defeat: “From where we stood it seemed as if the one fierce volcano burst had satisfied the need of nature and that the castle and the structure of the hill had sunk again into the void.”

*Note about Ruthenium plating: Due to equipment limitations at our shop, the plating is quite thin. If the jewelry is worn daily, the plating will probably start to wear off within a week's time, especially with rings. Details: The Dracula's Vampire Bat pendant is solid sterling silver with an antiqued finish and measures 59.6 mm long, 35.1 mm wide, and 6 mm at the thickest point. The necklace weighs 17 grams in sterling silver. The back of the pendant is stamped with our makers mark, copyright, and the metal content.
