Ouroboros Earrings

The snake eating its own tail, or Ouroboros, has symbolized many things over the ages, but generally represents ideas of recreation of self, unity, and infinity. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism world wide. The Ouroboros appeared in Ancient Norse mythology as Jörmungandr, one of the children of Loki, who grew so large that it could encircle the world and grasp its tail in its teeth.

Details: The hoop style earrings are sterling silver and are finished with black antiquing. The snakes appear to go through your earlobes. The ouroboros earrings measure 20.5 mm in diameter and 5.4 mm wide at the snake's head. The snake eating tail earrings weigh 4 grams (2 grams each).

Optional Stones: The snake's eyes can be set with your choice of faceted 1.5 mm stones: Choose from imitation garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, diamond, emerald, alexandrite, ruby, peridot, sapphire, pink tourmaline, topaz, or blue zircon.
